The following instructions have been tested using the latest version of Snagit with Windows 11 Enterprise.
Modify Windows Accessibility Settings
1. Click the search bar in your taskbar.
2. Type Accessibility keyboard settings.
3. Locate the Use Print screen key to open Snipping Tool option. Click the slider to off.
Manually Enable/Disable Hotkey Override in Snagit
1. Open the Snagit Capture Window.
2. Select File > Capture Preferences > Hotkeys tab
3. Select the checkbox next to the Allow Snagit to override other hotkey assignments option
4. Click OK
5. Under the red Capture button, click the text that is currently displayed.
6. Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard.
7. If, after this, the print screen button is still using the default Snipping Tool, try using a combination of keys such as CTRL+Print Screen
Note:
Snagit needs to be opened before pressing Print Screen to use it, and you might need to restart Snagit after applying the settings. For snagit to run on startup, follow the steps below:
1. Open Snagit and go to File > Capture Preferences
2. Under the General tab, ensure Run Snagit when Windows starts is checked.
