How to Publish/Unpublish an Assignment on Canvas

Step 1: Accessing Your Course:

  1. Log in to your Canvas account.
  2. Select the course where you want to publish or unpublish an assignment.

Step 2: Navigating to Assignments:

  1. Once you have opened the course, locate the “Assignments” tab in the course navigation menu.
  2. Click on “Assignments” to access the file management area.

Step 3: View Status of All Assignments:

  1. On the assignments page you can view the status of each assignment. The green check mark means it is published while the gray icon indicates your assignment is not published.

  1. To publish the assignment simply click on the icon to make it green.
  2. To unpublish the assignment click the icon to make it gray.

Step 4: View Status of An Individual Assignment:

  1. To publish the assignment simply click on the icon to make it green.
